We Love Holley Sniper

Holley has a great entry level unit with the Holley Sniper systems. They make a great replacement for a carburetor, but sometimes they get a bad rap! Here are a couple of tips to make your Holley Sniper experience a great one:

1 - If you want the system to perform up to its potential, use timing control. Timing control is not only used for idle, but it makes for a much better tune when you can control the timing in any part of the tune. To get the best experience, either use ignition components such as MSD that are compatible with Holley Sniper or get the plug and play ignition system for Holley Sniper from Holley.

2 - There is typically some tuning required. Base fuel is self-tuning to a point, but you really want to smooth it all out after it's done learning. Also, items such as acceleration enrichment (when you step on the peddle) and timing are NOT self-learning.

3 - RF Interference is a real thing and it can drive you nuts! This problem will manifest itself in several different ways, many of which you don't expect. Do yourself a favor and order some ferrite beads online. Put them on every wire that exits the Sniper throttle body. Many times, this will solve or prevent RF issues and a whole set is around $10.

4 - Take the time to learn the system or find a tuner. To get the most out of the system, it needs to be tuned completely. Either take the time to learn it yourself or contact us at Truth Dyno and Performance to help you.

Installed and tuned properly, Holley Sniper is a great system and a great replacement for your old, tired carburetor. It can make your vehicle, start, idle, and run better than new! If you need help or have questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
