Support your dyno and performance shops!

Here’s something that many people don’t know about dyno and performance work. It’s full of risk and no one wants you around!

Any performance project is filled with unknown variables. No two performance builds are the same and once you put aftermarket parts on a vehicle or change any major component such as engine, transmission, suspension, etc, you can forget about going to your local parts store for parts unless you know the exact part number of what you’re after. You need to understand exactly how these components work, how to service them, or how to figure it out based on experience. Additionally, in today’s world with poor quality components, you can almost count on failures, leaks, and countless other things to go wrong. I’ve installed new water pumps that leak, brand new fuel injection systems with bad sensors, parts in the wrong box, and dozens of other things. These cost us performance shops time and money to resolve. Not to mention, we have to juggle several projects if we have to wait on and order parts. If I’m installing cylinder heads and the send me a incorrect component, now I have a vehicle in my way with the engine torn apart waiting on parts. I need to pay the rent, so I have to switch to another project, then come back to this one and try to remember where I left off.

The other major issue is, no neighborhood or commercial landlord wants an auto repair shop! They don’t want to accommodate the noise and the smells, let alone a dyno doing power tuning at WOT! Try to search for an affordable spot for dyno tuning that’s within 50 miles of a metro area. It isn’t going to happen.

Working on hot rods and power tuning vehicles is an expensive, risky business for a business owner. Installing and tuning Holley EFI, tuning nitrous, turbo, and supercharged vehicles on a Mustang Dyno can be exciting, when it all goes well! Getting that exceptional result is filled with risk, hard work, and being the business that the average Joe doesn’t want around. If you’ve ever had a neighbor complain about your favorite toy, imagine what we deal with!

Sorry for the long post, just understand that we provide a valuable service to keep your passion alive, but we need to make a living as well!
