When you add any type of power adder whether it's a turbo, supercharger, or nitrous, it's important to get a proper tune! Last week I had two power adder cars in my shop, and both owners wisely brought them in for a tune before putting the pedal to the metal!

We were able to put them on the dyno and in a controlled environment determine that BOTH cars had insufficient fuel supply! This resulted in the car going lean approaching higher RPM. If these issues were not found and resolved, both engines were at serious risk of catastrophic failure!

Tuning a car on the chassis dyno is about more than getting that hero power number. Vital data such as fuel pressure, oil pressure, air/fuel ratio (AFR), boost, timing, and more can all be monitored safely. Trying to do this on the street is a recipe for disaster. Test days at the track are OK, but you're at the mercy of weather, other participants, and track conditions.
