New options for running e85

Performance enthusiasts discovered a while ago, e85 makes an excellent fuel for high compression engines, or engines running boost. It’s higher octane rating allows high compression engines in excess of 13:1 compression to run on e85. Normally these engines run on race fuel which can $14/gal or more, or Methanol. Both options are expensive, and neither is available at the pump. Running e85 solves this.

The high compression and cooling effects also make it excellent for boosted applications. The higher octane combined with higher volume (~30%) of fuel resist detonation. This reduces the amount of ignition timing that typically has to be pulled, resulting in more safety and more power!
